Both of these are great. I think the face looks like some sort of prehistoric fish / bird beast. Excellent work. Keep it up.
This looks like a pit fired piece, a technique of burning clay art pieces in a pit with paper or sawdust after they are made (fired) to give it a "smoked" finish. Way to experiment with different techniques! Cheeers- Juliette
